About our Program:

Our Youth Confirmation is operated in conjunction with our First Communion program as part of the Restored Order of the Sacraments.  It is available for children in 3rd -12th grade.  Our program begins in September with a PARENT ORIENTATION MEETING on Sunday, September 14th at 5:30pm in the Parish Center.  All students are required to participate in Sacramental preparation sessions.  Children in 3rd - 5th grade will meet, along with their parents, once a month on Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 7:00pm in the Parish Center. See the attached Calendar below. Middle School and High School Candidates must contact Karen Oldham for information regarding their preparation requirements.  All candidates must have had at least one year of Faith Formation either through a parish program or attendance at a Catholic school BEFORE preparing to receive the Sacrament.  All candidates must attend weekly Mass, Confirmation prep sessions, participate in Faith Outreach projects, prepare a Saint biography, and attend a retreat.

If you have a teen who is UNBAPTIZED, please contact Karen Oldham to set up a parent/child meeting.  Thank you.

Our tentative date for the Sacrament to be celebrated is April 26, 2026. For more information please email Karen Oldham or call 303-420-1280, x1203.

Mountain Madness Conference/Retreat for Middle School

Each year Middle School Confirmation Candidates are invited to attend an amazing conference/retreat! This weekend event is full of fellowship and fun, but also about getting away from our busy lives to refocus our attention on building a better relationship with Jesus through prayer! This event is usually in February in Estes Park for all Middle School candidates! Watch for more details!

Confirmation Sponsor

All candidates for Confirmation are required to have a Sponsor.  The Sponsor is a special person chosen by the candidate to represent the faith community at the Rite of Confirmation. It is the sponsors duty to take care that the confirmed person behaves as a true witness of Christ and faithfully fulfills the obligations inherent in the sacrament. Since the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation are intimately connected, the Church encourages candidates for Confirmation to choose one of their baptismal godparents as a sponsor. In some occasions this isn't possible and the candidate must choose a different sponsor. In that case, they still must meet the requirement set forth by the Code of Canon Law.

  1. The Sponsor must be designated by the one to be confirmed, by the parents or the person who takes their place, or in their absence by the pastor or minister and have the aptitude and intention of fulfilling this function;
  2. Have completed the sixteenth year of age, or the pastor or minister has granted an exception for a just cause;
  3. Be a Catholic who has been confirmed and has already received the most holy sacrament of the Eucharist and who leads a life of faith in keeping with the function to be taken on;
  4. Not be bound by any canonical penalty* legitimately imposed or declared;
    *[i.e.Living in an invalid marriage (remarried w/out an annulment or cohabitation before marriage), abortion, etc.]
  5. Not be the father or mother of the one to be confirmed.

A sponsor is:
  • A model of how a person of faith lives in today's world.
  • A friend who knows the candidate and can witness to the maturing faith of the candidate before the community.
  • A guide, a confidant, and a listener.
  • A learner who is interested in her or his own growth as she or he walks the faith journey with the candidate.
  • One who will continue after Confirmation to walk the faith journey with the candidate and invite him or her into fuller participation in parish life and service.

Things every Confirmation Candidate should know:

  1. The two creeds (Apostles' and Nicene)
  2. The seven sacraments
  3. The Ten Commandments
  4. The five precepts of the Catholic Church
  5. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
  6. The Effects of Confirmation
  7. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
